Oil painting portrait of actor Bela Lugosi created by Hungarian artist Géza Kende around 1932. This portrait hung proudly in a place of honor inside Bela Lugosi's home from the time it was painted in 1932 until his death in 1956. Because Lugosi was frequently typecast as monsters, vampires, and mad scientists, he deeply cherished this painting. It depicted him exactly how he preferred to be seen: as an urbane, handsome, and debonair leading man.
